Microlights - PPR REQUIRED

If you are a microlight pilot and are planning to fly into the 2006 UK Paramotor Championships then please read the following information.  You may wish to print it off so you have all the telephone numbers etc you need.

The event committee are pleased to announce that we will be accepting incoming microlights but only under tightly controlled procedures.  As it is highly likely that there could be up to 50 paramotorists flying anywhere in the vicinity at the time, SAFETY for all is paramount.

Prior to leaving your home site please call the Competition Director Paul Mahony on 07791 029472 to provide your ETA.  Paul will then agree whether or not you may be permitted to fly in to the allotted field and advise you of any conditions that may prevail.

Should you not be able to reach Paul Mahony via his mobile, then the alternative number to use is 07779 728844. Janet Haines will take your call but will not be able to confirm that you may fly in until this has been ratified with Paul Mahony.

A microlight landing field has been allocated well away from the competition take-off fields.  This will have a windsock and be marked with a large white cross, pinned down for safety. This field will be inspected during the Championship and checked that conditions remain suitable. The OSGB 1936 grid reference to assist you in finding this field is TM299484.

Radio procedures: please use normal airfield approach procedure calling on 118.675.

Unfortunately we are unable to admit non-radio aircraft.

Please do not approach the airfield unless you have pre-booked your landing slot with the Competition Director.
