Welcome to the 2007 UK Paramotor National Championships information site

Final update on this years UK Paramotoring Championships.

Chavenage Green, near Tetbury, Gloucestershire from June 9th to 12th.  Set up and registration will be on Friday 8th.

All pilot should ensure they are there in time for the Championship briefing at 21.00 on Friday 8th.

Just 3 days to go and everyone is on count down for a bumper 2007 UK Championship.

We have more than 60 registered pilots; 1 trike and 1 powered hang glider, of which 4 are female pilots.  We have overseas guest pilots from France, Belgium, Ireland and Slovakia.

Our sponsors have come up trumps and enabled us put on a good show.  Some of the sponsors may even be putting up trade stands, although this is an option so they may decide to focus entirely on competing.  But we will still have some of the major manufacturers, importers, retailers and training schools there for you to chat to and learn from during non-competition times.

We hope to be able to put on some talks and videos, especially if we have to stand down due to inclement weather.

The site is at Chavenage Green near Tetbury, Gloucestershires.  OS grid ref ST853967  or  N 51’40’14 W2’12’49 (full road directions on this web site under ‘Directions to the Site’ tab).

On site we have field catering who will be offering cooked breakfasts, snacks and drinks throughout the day and a choice of two evening meals (1 Thai and 1 English menu). Come along and enjoy a convivial meal with friends old and new.

Camping will be in the field where we will have loos and water from a water bowser.  Because we cannot guarantee that water stored in the bowsers will be 100% potable we recommend that you bring bottled water with you.  Supplies may also be available from the catering point.  Showers may be taken at the local Sports Centre (they will make a small charge for this) just a couple of miles down the road.  We regret that we cannot offer showers on-site as we did last year but this was exorbitantly expensive and almost caused us to run at a loss.

There will be a bouncy-castle to amuse the kids again and the Tetbury Sport Centre has a good range of facilities - see site notice board for more details.
We have a great raffle and would like to thank all those businesses that have donated such fab prizes.  Don’t forget to buy your tickets (£1 a strip) at the Admin desk - you have to be in it to win it!

Championship Tshirts will be available from the office and at just a FIVER each you can afford to have one of each colour.

PILOTS - do not forget to read the Pilots Check list (on this site) so you do not forget the important things when you pack.  Reserves, Air Maps and Insurance are mandatory - no tick in all three boxes means you won’t be able to fly (same for Free-flyers).

VISITORS - we welcome visitors to the event.  You will find the sport fascinating and exciting, but we would like to point out to you that we are very weather dependent on when we can fly so we cannot say, with any certainty, what times the tasks will take place.  As a guideline we tend to find early morning and evening times often offer us the best flying conditions.

Areas for spectators will be clearly marked and must be respected at all times.  Dogs must be kept on a lead and children closely monitored, as being too near to pilots and equipment can be dangerous.  Visitors are welcome to use any of the facilities and should you decide you want to spend more than a few hours with us then you are welcome to stay for just £5 per night.

Please come and find us in the Admin office if you have any queries.

FIRST AID
There will be a notice on the notice board on where this will be and who are the First Aiders.

PRESS
We welcome you but would ask that you come along and find us at the Admin office so that we can give you all the help and information you might want.  If you are taking photos then it is very important that we assist you and that you do not venture on to the flying areas without permission to do so.

WEATHER
Check this out : http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm

If this is to be believed it is looking fantastic! Could be the best Nats ever with so little wind around. Keep your fingers crossed.

MESSAGE TO OUR NEIGHBOURS
This is an annual event, which is located in a different place each year.  We arrive to set up the field on Friday 8th and finish flying on Tuesday the 12th, with the site clearing the following day.  So we will be with you for less than a week.
The event is properly organised and insured, with flying strictly under Civil Aviation Authority rules, which respects air space and all other requirements upon us as pilots. Our competitors are briefed and monitored to limit the interference we may unwittingly cause you, our neighbours.  We do however fly some distances away from the site on certain tasks and you may see some pilots out-landing if (due to unforeseen circumstances) they need to do so for safety reasons.  We also welcome lifts back to the field if you happen to be passing and have room for all the gear!
Because our sport is very weather dependent we do have to fly at times when there is little wind and no rain.  This often means early morning starts, but we can only fly up to half an hour after sunset, so no late night flying to disturb you.

We would love to see you come along and enjoy the event.  There are top pilots from all over Europe and the results of this event will help us to select the British Paramotoring Team who will go on to compete in the World Championships in China in September.
