Practice tasks

During the practice days, pilots may fly any of the tasks 4, 5, 7 or 9 of the Czech National Championships.

Please note that the task briefs are similar but NOT the same as the task briefs for WPC, they have since been improved for WPC. Nevertheless, please fly each task as it written in the practice task brief.

There will be no deck control, electronic devices control or fuel control (where applicable) in practice tasks. Pilots simply fly the task and bring their logger to the scoring office when they return to the airfield. The logger will be downloaded, the flight analysed and a score will be posted in the Practice scores section of the intranet.

Please remember there is no flying until pilots have registered and that ALL no fly zones are permanently active during the practice days.

Task 4, pure navigation (distance)

  • Download Practice Task 4.zip containing the brief.
  • This task will be scored as Practice Task 1
Task 5, pure economy
  • Download Practice Task 5.zip containing the brief.
  • This task will be scored as Practice Task 2
Task 7, Navigation / estimated speed
  • Download Practice Task 7.zip containing the brief.
  • Pilots must fly Option B. (Option A is a remote landing at Airfield Horice and you do NOT have permission to land there.)
  • Before departing on this task, agree with the scoring office a suitable IP1 time and then submit the Pilot declaration. No IP1 time or pilot declaration = no score!
  • The staight line track back from IP2 takes you more or less straight over Jaromer airfield (clearly marked on the official map just SE of the town). Pilots are reminded of the note in Bulletin 2 about practice days: There are many other airfields in the area of the official map, all of which may be active with light aircraft, gliders, microlights, parachutists and other aerial activities. Pilots are reminded to keep a good lookout at all times and avoid overflying them.
  • This task will be scored as Practice Task 3
Task 9, Speed triangle and out & return
  • Download Practice Task 9.zip containing the brief.
  • Pilots do their own fuel control. If they cheat, that's a problem for their own conscience!
  • Pilot score in the 4 sticks element of the task is declarative upon return. Pilots should make sure there are 4 sticks on the airfield before they start the task. If they are not there when the time comes to kick them, then carry on and fix the problem yourself later.
  • This task will be scored as Practice Task 4
