RSS Feeds

As an alternative to a Twitter client you can receive the same messages via a RSS feed to your PC or mobile phone.

The URL is http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/45155850.rss

On a PC, click on the link above and you will find a Subscribe now button to get these messages via your browser or other applications.

Some mobile phones come pre-loaded with applications which will read RSS feeds for you but in many cases you will need to download and install an RSS feed reader on your mobile.

The easiest way to find an application for your phone is to search the internet for the term "RSS feed reader" and your phone or device type.

For example, if you have a Sony Ericsson or a Nokia you should search for "RSS feed reader Sony Ericsson" and "RSS feed reader Nokia" respectively.

An alternative RSS feed

Not using Twitter at all, you can get a feed which matches the Recent additions menu in the intranet at http://www.flymicro.com/wpc2009/latest_news.xml. This feed has the advantage that news items link directly to the actual item in the intranet. (not quite as sexy and bleeding edge as using Twitter though).
