First task completed

Against all weather forecasts the first task in the championships was completed tonight.

It was a navigation task taking pilots anything up to 40Km away from the field,  to turnpoints in an order of pilot’s choice.

Some pilots encountered rain but most seemed to enjoy it….

The weather forecast appears a lot more promising for tomorrow, the first task will be the classic ‘speed triangle and out and return’ with a twist.  Pilots have to land at their point of maximum distance and find a witness to verify their position…. Not so easy on a Sunday morning and a particular challenge to those of our foreign guests who don’t speak much English.

Most people return with a good story though.
