FUEL ECONOMY

 

 

 

 

 

AIM : To fly the maximum distance with a set amount of fuel.

 

 

 

PRINCIPAL :

 

A list of 10 ground markers is given to each crew. You will attempt to travel the furthest possible distance.

The total distance will be the cumulative distance between each ground marker.

The flight over the ground marker will be proved by a ground photograph taken within the photo sector.

In the event of a non-validation of one or more ground markers, it will be the length between 2 consecutive valid ground markers that will be taken into account.

After landing in the landing deck (respect the  landing “T”), the pilot has to complete a declaration form, in 15 minutes, on which he has to mark the markers flown over in a chronological order.

The 2 seaters will take off with 15 Kgs of fuel. The single seaters will take off with 10 Kgs of fuel.

 

 

 

 

PENALITES :

Overrunning the landing deck at take off :                        20% penalty on performance

Landing before or Overrunning the landing deck at landing:            20% penalty on performance

Outlanding :                                                                   0 points for the task

Non respect of landing direction                                      40% penalty on performance

Taking the photo outside photo sector :                            photo not valid

 

 

 

 

CALCULATION :

                        PERFORMANCE = Numbers of kilometres - Penalities

 

 

 

The best performance will be amended to 1000 points and the others pro rated.
