NAVIGATION CONTRACT
AIM :
Find the number of ground features.
PRINCIPAL :
You will have to fly over
the maximum number of ground features in a set amount of time. That period of
time will include flight preparation and the actual flight itself.
Time will begin when the
list of ground features is handed out and stopped on landing. Before take off,
the pilot will have to have his flight path defined (= contract) that must be
scrupulously adheved to. (number of ground features and in the chronological
order of the ground features).
The ground features will
need to be validated by a photograph taken in flight, in the angular sector
defined by the description of the ground features.
The pilot will have to take
off and land in the landing deck.
Process for exiting deck and
handing in film.
PENALITES :
Overrunning the landing deck at take off =
10% penalty on performance
Landing before or overrunning the landing
deck on landing = 10% penalty on performance
Each ground feature not identified = 20% of declared contract
Example = If a contract totalling 20 ground features :
1st invalid ground features = 20% on 20 = 4 ground features penalised ð
16 ground
features remaining in the contract.
2nd invalid ground features = 20% out of 16 = 3 ground features penalised ð
13 ground
features remaining in the contract.
Penalty rounded down for 0.5 or less and
rounded up above 0.5 for the number of ground features.
CALCULATION :
PERFORMANCE = N° of
valid ground features - Penalities
The best performance will be amended to 1000 points
and the others pro rated.
